AI agents are learning to shop for people. The big protocols cover how an agent reads a shop, checks out and proves you said yes. None of them gives you a profile of your own. What you want ends up inside whichever company’s agent you happen to be using, which means the agent works for them.
The Open Intent Profile is our go at the missing half: a file you own, that you can read over a cuppa, that any agent can borrow and none can quietly rewrite. Matt wrote it because the hard part is a person reading their own profile and agreeing with it, and that’s a design problem. It’s a draft, it’s open under CC BY 4.0, and it will be wrong in places, which is why it’s public.
